A licence covers one address

Every Class B licence from the National Betting Authority names a specific domain in the register, e.g. www.stoiximan.com.cy. The licence covers that address. Variations with hyphens, other endings or words like “cyprus” in the name are not covered.

How to check in three steps

  1. Type the address into Cast the net. We clean it up (https, www, capitals, paths) and look for an exact match in the register.
  2. If it isn’t in the register, we check the NBA blocking list, including parent domains, so subdomains such as m. are caught too.
  3. Look at the dates: every answer shows when the register was read and when the blocking list was updated.

Warning signs

  • The address looks like a well-known company but differs by a letter, a hyphen or a word.
  • You got the link by message, email or a social media ad, not from the register.
  • The website also offers casino games or slots. A Class B licence covers betting only.

What the law says

According to the NBA’s information website, Class B betting on a website not licensed by the Authority is illegal, and the blocking list includes websites that have no licence or offer illegal betting services.

Frequently asked questions

If a website ends in .com.cy, is it legal?

Not necessarily. Only the exact address listed in the NBA Class B register is legal.

What if an address is neither in the register nor on the blocking list?

It has no Class B licence, so it may not accept bets in Cyprus. The blocking list is updated regularly and does not include every illegal website.

Do subdomains such as m. or www. count?

www. doesn’t change the address. Other subdomains are not covered by the licence unless the register lists them.
